Skin for Codex

Treat Dream Skin as an inspectable, reversible modification.

The main risk is version-sensitive third-party asset replacement, not an invisible installer. Reduce risk with fixed files, no executables, a version pin, backups, and honest compatibility labels.

Threat model

Dream Skin can break after upstream changes or behave differently across platforms. It is not an official Codex capability, so the user remains responsible for reviewing source, package contents, and the exact install target.

Inspect before you install

This builder rejects executable archive content and generates fixed package paths. Review manifest.json, README.txt, NOTICE.txt, the image, and platform configuration before you replace anything. The package contains no JavaScript, PowerShell, shell, command, or installer files.

Pin, back up, and restore

Use the linked pinned upstream commit, make a copy of every target before replacement, and test a restore immediately. Format verified means the package passed the pinned upstream structural check; it is not a compatibility claim for your device or a verified installation. Only recorded injection, screenshot, and restore testing can support a Verified install claim.
